Committee Members

I trained as a GP on Teesside, and have been a partner in Middlesbrough, though have mainly worked as locum all around Tees for about a decade.

I’ve been a LMC member for most of the last eighteen years, and have also been North East Sessional GPs Secretary.

I was deputy chair of the UK Junior Doctors Committee Negotiators during training, and have done various other bits with the BMA nationally since I was a student. I also bring great home baking to any team!

I have been a GP in Teesside for last fifteen years and a member of LMC for almost all the time.

I have been an LMC Executive member for last seven years. I work as a GP Partner and trainer at Dovecot Surgery in Stockton.

Along with this, I have experience of collaborative working due my work experience related to working with CCG and our local Primary care network. I additionally work as a GP Appraiser and as a regional elected BMA Representative on General Practitioners Committee.

These roles have given me a good insight into range of issues affecting General Practice on day to day basis.

I am a GP in Teesside, having moved to the area in 2007 and subsequently completing training in the area. I have had various roles in the area from porter to pigment scientist, bereavement officer to biomedical scientist. I have worked as a national clinical policy lead within specialised commissioning at NHS England and had a role in the ICB. I currently work as a salaried GP, a clinical support information librarian and a clinical lead within my Primary Care Network.  I joined Cleveland LMC as a doctor in training representative and never looked back. 

I am a GP partner at a local practice. I am a trainer and a TPD. I have been a member of the executive board as co- vicechairman for 3 years and in that time have attended 2 national conferences where I presented the views of our local GPs.

GP partner since 2021, qualified in Durham and Tees valley training programme, and graduated from Newcastle University in 2016. Clinical safety officer and ILM qualified for coaching and mentoring

I graduated from Newcastle Medical School in 2015 and completed GP training in 2021. I became a GP partner after CCT and have now worked in this role at Huntcliff Surgery for five years. I am also the medicines lead and designated digital clinical safety officer for the practice.

My motivation for joining the LMC committee stems from my belief that general practice should not inherit clinical, administrative, or financial responsibilities simply because another organisation has failed to retain, commission or clearly allocate them.

Outside of work, my main interests are chess and football. As a Teesside lad, I am a lifelong Middlesbrough FC supporter and follow the team home and away

Hi - Im Tara and have worked since the age of 18 in Primary Care, initially as a Receptionist then administration before Practice Management which I have been doing for the past 23 years.

I think if you cut me open it would read 'general practice'! - I am passionate about Primary Care and supporting/mentoring staff working within it. Lets face it, it is never dull and always changing so we are always learning and developing.

Lewis is a Managing Partner at a constituent GP practice and represents Practice Managers across Middlesbrough on the Cleveland Local Medical Committee (CLMC). He is also a member of the CLMC Practice Manager Association, contributing to the wider representation and support of practice management across the area.

Lewis is a qualified HR professional with managerial experience across both primary and secondary care. His experience includes operational and strategic leadership, workforce and HR management, service development and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Through his LMC roles, Lewis is passionate about ensuring the voice of Practice Managers is represented and that practices are supported in navigating the challenges facing general practice.
