Business Manager

I have worked within finance and pensions in Teesside for 15 years, covering fines, licensing endorsements, wages, year end and management of pension schemes.

I joined Cleveland LMC in March 2015 as an Administration Assistant, supporting the executive team and the day to day running of the office.

I am currently the Business Manager for CLMC providing support, advice and resources to practices and Practice Managers, I support the executive team , manage the running of the LMC office, leading areas of work within workforce, PCSE, GPAS and PMA.

Interim CEO (job share) and Chair of LMC Board

I have been a GP in Teesside for last 12 years and a member of LMC for almost all the time.

I have been an LMC Executive member for last four years. I work as a GP Partner and trainer at Dovecot Surgery in Stockton.

Along with this, I have experience of collaborative working due my work experience related to working with CCG and our local Primary care network. I additionally work as a GP Appraiser and as a regional elected BMA Representative on General Practitioners Committee.

These roles have given me a good insight into range of issues affecting General Practice on day to day basis.

Michelle Martin

Practice Quality & CQC Facilitator

I trained and worked as a Registered Nurse in Teesside, Hull and Southampton for 20 years.

I then worked in health and safety, risk management, governance, quality improvement and contract management roles for an acute Trust and PCTs on Teesside. Between January 2012 and July 2021 I worked as an Inspector for the Care Quality Commission.

I joined Cleveland LMC in October 2021 as the Practice Quality and CQC Facilitator and have been providing advice and resources to practices. This includes supporting them with preparing for CQC Direct Monitoring Calls and inspections and in meeting quality and CQC requirements.

Dr Rachel McMahon

CEO and Secretary

I have been a GP in Teesside since 2006, and a member of the LMC for almost all that time. I have been an LMC executive team member since 2015, holding the role of company secretary since 2019.

I have led the LMCs work on improving integration with secondary care and on safe working in general practice.

I previously had responsibility for organising and running the national conference of LMCs, which provided an unrivalled leadership experience. I now sit on the national BMA Sessional GPs Committee.

My clinical work is as a GP locum, and I additionally work as a GP Appraiser. Both roles give me an excellent insight into the range of issues affecting GPs and practices on a day-to-day basis.

Dr Debs White

Vice Chair of LMC Board

I trained as a GP on Teesside, and have been a partner in Middlesbrough, though have mainly worked as locum all around Tees for about a decade.

I’ve been a LMC member for most of the last 15 years, and have also been North East Sessional GPs Secretary.

I was deputy chair of the UK Junior Doctors Committee Negotiators during training, and have done various other bits with the BMA nationally since I was a student. I also bring great home baking to any team!

Dr Mo Ellahi

Vice Chair of LMC Board

I qualified as a GP in 2018 and have worked as a partner in Thornaby since then. I have been a TPD since 2021 and currently working with DTV VTS. I hope to add value from the training and retention aspects of our profession as well as learning from our excellent executive team.

The CLMC Board will be meeting on 4th October to discuss our future recruitment options. We are mindful of the need to ensure that we recruit appropriately to meet your needs as our constituent, rather than rush into a less good appointment.
