Salaried GP (4- 8 sessions) – Linthorpe Surgery, Middlesbrough

 Linthorpe Surgery is the largest practice in Middlesbrough with 9 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs and a large team of practice and PCN-employed staff. Our team includes clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, advanced nurse practitioners, mental health practitioners, practice nurses, HCAs, care-coordinators, social prescribers and a superb group of highly committed and enthusiastic administrative and reception staff.  We have a very able management team leading the practice with a list size of 21k patients.

Linthorpe Surgery is part of Holgate PCN, a forward thinking and innovative PCN delivering cross-practice services across all PCN practices such as a same-day urgent care hub, pharmacy hub, dedicated safeguarding team and a care-home clinical practitioner team. One of the GP Partners is the Clinical Director for the PCN.

We are a well-established training practice with 2 post-graduate trainers, a foundation doctor trainer and we host large numbers of Newcastle University medical students.   Our lead trainer and GP Partner is also Head of GP teaching at Newcastle University.

We are a stable and forward- thinking practice with a rich and varied skill set amongst the partnership including minor surgery, academic research, teaching and public health. We transitioned to a total-triage model 2 years ago, which has improved patient access, increased GP satisfaction and enabled us to move to 15-minute GP appointments for both telephone and face-to-face appointments.

We have a very low-turnover of staff across the board and have a well-established and committed partnership team that places a high value on staff wellbeing and welfare – we even socialise and get together in our spare time!
